That is very true that standard of living will decline of the USA given that its costs are increasing and productivity declining.
The article says you need to go something about it. I fear, its implying that the author expects you to want the government to "do something" which is typically the wrong answer.
USA and rest of the western world need to realize that productivity needs to increase, costs need to be reduced, otherwise, business / economy gets up and moves. However, the knowledge level of the western world and understanding of economics and business is next to zero, therefore, I do not expect the people will be able to change their thinking and behavior, thus continuing with the decline.
